Baldassarri and Fernández, protagonists on the first day of the Grand Prix of France

The riders of the FlexBox HP 40 finish third and fourth, respectively, the first day of free practice at Le Mans.

The MotoGP World Championship faces the fifth race of the season at the legendary French Le Mans track, located about two hundred kilometers southwest of Paris. As always, the French Grand Prix has all the riders and teams outstanding from the sky, but today has given truce and have been able to play both sessions of free practice in dry conditions.

The FlexBox HP 40 arrives in a good moment of form after the double podium obtained in the last Grand Prix, in Jerez, with the victory of Baldassarri and leader of the championship, and the third place of Fernandez, and both have shown it in the first day of activity on the track.

Baldassarri, who in the morning achieved the ninth best record, has made a great leap forward in the afternoon. Working always thinking about the race, the rider of the FlexBox HP 40 has also shown fast to a lap and the best time of 1:36.668 is used to be placed third in the combined times of the day, one tenth of the fastest record. The sensations are good and Baldassarri is already prepared for the race on Sunday.

Very good day also for Augusto Fernández in a circuit unknown to him. The Spanish rider of the FlexBox HP 40 has done a training from less to more. With some problems in the morning, good work with his technical team has allowed him to solve them and be among the fastest in the category. Finish the day one position behind his teammate, fourth, with a time of 1:36.687. Without a doubt, a positive start of Los40 rider.

Tomorrow, the riders of the FlexBox HP 40 will return to the track at 10:55 hours to ride the last free practice, which will serve to finish preparing the qualifying of the afternoon, scheduled at 15:05 hours.

Lorenzo Baldassari, 3rd, 1: 36,668 (+0.117)
"The first day at Le Mans went well. We were able to ride dry and we set a competitive time, while we did a good job with the bike and it was important to make the most of today's day as it looks like tomorrow It's going to rain. So we have a good base to face the race on Sunday, we are ready. We still have to work on the wear of the rear tire to know which compound we will go to. If tomorrow it finally rains, it will be a new day and we will the maximum, as always."

Augusto Fernández, 4th, 1: 36,687 (+0.136)
"I'm happy with the first day at Le Mans. In the morning we had a couple of problems, but it was generally, also because it was a new track for me there was a bit of kaos, but in the afternoon we fixed everything I have adapted well to the track and I have pressed to get a good time and we have achieved it. Then we have focused on working towards the race and I think we are on the right track. First positive day and tomorrow to continue working and polishing the details that we have left."
