The FlexBox HP 40 starts the Grand Prix of Spain

Augusto Fernández, on his return after his injury, ends the first day seventh; Baldassari, eleventh.

After the dispute of the first three races of the season, the MotoGP World Championship has set foot on Europe for the first time this year with the first grand prix at home for the FlexBox HP 40, the Grand Prix of Spain at the Circuito de Jerez - Ángel Nieto.

As usual in the Andalusian track, the riders have been able to enjoy a warm first day, with clear skies and a radiant sun, although that, with some gusts of wind.

Baldassarri, who arrives at the grand prix leader of the championship, has had a difficult first day. In the morning, an electronic problem on his PONS Kalex has caused much of the training to be lost. With ten minutes to go, the FlexBox HP 40 rider returned to the track, moment when he suffered a fall without physical consequences and meant the end of the training. In the afternoon he continued in the same line of work and the sensations have been good. Finished the day eleventh, with a better chronometer of 1:42.297 and confident to improve tomorrow.

Positive good day for his teammate, Augusto Fernandez, who gets back on his bike after his injury. The spaniard of the FlexBox HP 40 has felt very well on the Moto2 in both sessions of the day, managing to lead the day for a while. Fernandez has stopped the clock in 1:42.08, seventh in the combined timestamp. A good return of the pupil of Sito Pons.

Tomorrow, the riders of the FlexBox HP 40 will return to the track at 10:55 to ride the last free practice before the qualifying, scheduled at 15:05.

Lorenzo Baldassari, 11th, 1:42.297 (+0.478)
"Today was a difficult first day, we did not do very well on a track that I like. No problem, we have tomorrow to continue rolling and accumulating information and the feeling with the bike is good. Has been a pitty the electronic problem of the morning and the fall, without consequences, as well as the fall of the afternoon that has been trying to test a different braking, but we have tomorrow and we will continue working and we will take a step forward".

Augusto Fernández, 7º, 1:42.081 (+0.262)
"I am very happy to be back with the whole team, the truth is that I missed them. After the injury, the sensations are better than I expected, I still have some pain but it allows me to ride as I want. I have been fast, both in the morning and in the afternoon, so tomorrow we have to continue in this line. I am satisfied with the first day".
