FlexBox HP 40, the exciting project for the 2019 season

Lorenzo Baldassarri and Augusto Fernández, official riders of the team, unveil the new colors of their Kalex.

With the look set on the start of the season on March 10 in Losail, Qatar, PONS Racing presents the FlexBox HP 40, its sports project for this season in the Moto2 World Championship.

The team leaded by Sito Pons will have the duo formed by Lorenzo Baldassarri and Augusto Fernández, two young riders, with talent and who are called to be protagonists in the intermediate category and in this official IRTA test in Jerez will debut with the new image of the team .

In his second season in the team, Lorenzo Baldassarri faces 2019 with great enthusiasm and motivation. He already knows what win means, and after finishing 2018 in the fifth position and with a total of five podiums, he is undoubtedly one of the reference riders of the grid. The objective is none other than to fight for the world championship.

On the other side of the box, Augusto Fernández repeats as his partner in the FlexBox HP 40. After debuting on the team mid-season, Fernandez will face his first full season under the orders of Sito Pons. Fully adapted to the category and with great speed, he is expected among the fastest riders in the category.

This is the exciting and winning project for this season of the FlexBox HP 40.

Lorenzo Baldassarri
"After seeing the new colors of the team I am very happy and excited, I really want to start the season, the second with the team, as we did a very good first year. I am ready and with the same people, what is very important I can only thank the sponsors and Sito for this new opportunity, with the necessary technical and human resources to be able to fight for the championship. So thank you and let the year begin!"

Augusto Fernández
"I am very excited to start the year and very happy to continue one more season with the team, with the same people, with the same teammate with whom I have a good relationship, so it is the perfect environment to face my first season. I believe that we form a very good group and a competitive package that will allow us to fight for winning races and be on the top positions this year. I personally hope to take that step forward that I missed at the end of last season. I want to thank the sponsors and Sito for the trust placed in me and I am sure it will be a good year."

Sito Pons
"I am very pleased to present the new sporting project of this season, the FlexBox HP 40. We have two very competitive riders such as Lorenzo Baldassarri and Augusto Fernández, two young talents that without a doubt are a bet of success of present and future. Baldassarri already knows what it is to win in the highly competitive Moto2 category, I think he is at that point of maturity that every rider needs to reach and that should lead him to fight for the title this season. As for Fernández, we were already surprised by his rapid adaptation to the team and category the previous season. We hope to give them the necessary tools and resources to fight for the top positions, and with the aim of fighting for the World Championship. We have a competitive and exciting duo that will lead us to achieve success.

Again, everything is possible thanks to the confidence of our partners in our project, the FlexBox HP 40. Without them it would not be possible and I want to thank them for one more season. Without doubt, together we will enjoy a good year and we will celebrate many successes together".
